About the NGO:
Voice Vision, started in April 2000 as a computer training institute for the blind and visually impaired with the help of assistive technology in the form of JAWS (screen reading software), has come a long way over the last few years. Today with a view to enhance our role as a information and service provider to the visually impaired community, besides imparting computer training, we have taken up various initiatives such as the reader-writer support, facilitating easy access of NGO information on one platform, incepting a matrimonial portal to name a few. All the initiatives are driven towards our soul mission to enhance the quality of one’s living and garner an increased support and participation of the visually impaired and the other differently-able people in today’s society.
Projects of Interest:
Voice Vision Matrimonial:
It is rightly said, The first bond of society is marriage. Every individual awaits the arrival of that one special person who could be his / her companion for life. We take a small step in this direction, and attempt to bring about a leap of difference to a person’s life through our Voice Vision Matrimonial. The aim is to see every person with disability well settled in his / her life. This matrimonial section is open to all. It’s not restricted just for those with special needs. We are looking for volunteers who could help us with creating awareness about this matrimonial through various mediums.

Reader Writer campaign:
Although technology has reduced the dependency of the sight disabled to a large extent, hand-written information and some kind of print material still remains inaccessible to the visually challenged. That’s where a reader/writer comes in. A reader/writer is a one who assists a visually impaired person in reading/writing documents. They provide help in various ways such as filing documents, reading newspapers & other print material of Importance. Further, a reader/writer also assist students in preparing for their exams by reading their study material, and during examinations, read question papers, and write the answers dictated. Hence, Voice Vision through its website has taken up the task of building a database of Reader / writer volunteers who could provide this assistance. We are also looking for volunteers who could help us in collecting this database by going to schools, colleges and other institutions and creating awareness. Training would be provided to the volunteer before he / she approaches these institutions. Let’s begin a revolution with this all new campaign!

Knowledge sessions:
Voice Vision provides valuable and useful information related to topics of utmost importance to a visually impaired individual as well as his/her parents and family members, such as soft skills, financial planning, counseling, sharing of experiences of parents etc, through workshops and knowledge sessions held at regular intervals. We need volunteers to help us with management of these workshops / sessions / events.
Parents guide:

In the journey of one’s life, the role played by his or her parents is indispensable. Dealing with the truth of one’s son/daughter being visually impaired is not easy when it comes to accepting the same, and also in the subsequent stages in their respective lives. Voice Vision’s effort in this Endeavour, deals with providing the optimum guidance to the parents with regards to the different facilities available, different ways to deal with problems and let them know they are not alone. For this we need volunteers who could help us collect the stories of the experiences of parents in their journey of bringing up their child with special needs, so it could be shared with other parents who may be in need of guidance.
